CJHL 3 Stars of the Month for March

 CALGARY, Alberta - Okotoks Oilers (AJHL) forward John Edwardh, Sudbury Nickel Barons (NOJHL) forward Darcy Haines and Minnesota Wilderness (SIJHL) goalie Gordy Defiel have been named the CJHL 3 Stars for the month of March 2013.

1st STAR - JOHN EDWARDH, F, Okotoks Oilers, Alberta Junior Hockey League (12GP, 11 G, 5 A, 16 PTS)
During the month of March, Edwardh tallied 11 goals in 12 games. Those 11 goals included an impressive 6 game winning goals, with all 6 game winners coming in post-season victories for the Okotoks Oilers. The 18-year-old rookie and Calgary, Alberta native recorded points in 10 of 12 games throughout the month of March and collected 16 points in all.

2nd STAR - DARCY HAINES, F, Sudbury Nickel Barons, Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (13 GP, 7 G, 15 A, 22 PTS)
In 13 games played in the month of March, the 19-year-old native of Val Caron, Ontario was impressive, registering 22 points on 7 goals and 15 assists. Haines recorded 17 of those points in post-season play, which led all skaters in the NOJHL. Haines was recently named the NOJHL Most Valuable Player while also earning First Team All-Star honours.

3rd STAR - GORDY DEFIEL, G, Minnesota Wilderness, Superior International Junior Hockey League (5GP, 5W, 0L, 1.40GAA, .952%)
In March, Defiel went a perfect 5-0, including backstopping the Wilderness to a four-game sweep of the Minnesota Iron Rangers in SIJHL semi-final play. In those 5 outings he registered a 1.40 goals against average along with a stellar save percentage of .952% and one shutout. The 19-year-old native of Stillwater, Minnesota recently received the SIJHL's Top Goaltender award on the strength of his incredible regular season accomplishments.
