Jr. Knights Ivan Provorov Tendered by Cedar Rapids Roughriders

With the amount of success the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights organization has achieved – U16 American Champion, U16 National Champion, AJHL Champion, they have been attracting the eyes of many in the hockey world.

It has been announced that the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the USHL have acquired Jr. Knights U16 National Defenseman Ivan Provorov through the USHL tender process. Each USHL team is allowed the option of tendering up to two 1997-born players prior to the 2013 USHL Futures Draft. If a team tenders one player, that team surrenders their second-round selection in the 2013 Futures Draft, and if they tender two players, they will also surrender their third-round pick. Without tendering any player, each club in the USHL has six selections in the Futures Draft.

Ivan Provorov is a 1997-born defenseman originally from Yaroslavl, Russia. Provorov is a 6’-190lbs player who has recorded 12 goals and 20 assists in 22 games for the Jr. Knights during the 2012-2013 season. He also earned the AYHL’s All American Defensive Award. This is his third year playing for the Knights organization.
