SUDBURY -- The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League
announced today that Tait Seguin of North Bay Trappers has been named
its scholastic player of the year for the 2012-13 season.
With the honour comes a $1,000 scholarship on behalf of RBC to help defer costs of a post-secondary education.
Seguin also becomes the NOJHL’s nominee for the Hockey
Canada/Canadian Jr. Hockey League RBC scholastic player of the year
award, which will be announced during the upcoming Royal Bank Cup in
Summerside, P.E.I. That recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
The 18-year-old Seguin is currently in his first-year at Nipissing University in North Bay where he is studying Biology.
Prior to that he was an honour student throughout high school seeing
him earn a 90% average, or higher, in every course he studied.
The Trappers forward also earned league laurels for his efforts on
the ice as well as he was earlier named to the NOJHL first all-star team
at left wing.
