Pedan Agrees To Terms On Entry-Level Contract

The New York Islanders announced today that Andrey Pedan has agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level deal. Pedan will join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League on an amateur tryout agreement.

Pedan, 19, led all Guelph Storm defensemen in scoring with a career-high 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) in 60 games this season. The Kaunas, Lithuania native led the Storm in playoff scoring with four points (three goals, one assist) in five Ontario Hockey League playoff games, as Guelph fell in the first round to the Kitchener Rangers.

The Islanders’ third-round (63rd overall) selection in the 2011 NHL Draft, completed a three-year OHL career with 96 points (26 goals, 70 assists) and 386 penalty minutes in 174 regular-season games. He also added 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 17 career OHL playoff games.

On the international stage, Pedan represented Russia at the 2011 Under-18 World Junior Championships. He recorded two assists in six games as Russia earned a bronze medal.
