Pistons win in OT. Series tied 2-2

Press Release

Sixty minutes wasn't enough for the Dauphin Kings and Steinbach Pistons Saturday night. In fact, game four in the Turnbull Cup championship series took 61 minutes and 37 seconds. That's when Dan Talliefer sent Pistons fans home happy from the T.G. Smith Centre, as their team picked up a 4-3 overtime win to even the series at two games each.

Talliefer left the rink that night happy as well. Not only with the win, but also because his overtime winner was also his third on the night, giving him the hat trick. His first two goals on the night were scored in the third period.

Jesse Sinatynski followed up his strong performance in game three with another multiple goal game in game four. Like Talliefer, both of Sinatynski's markers came in the third frame. But Kings head coach and general manager Marlin Murray told the CKDM post game show his team needs more from other players.

"We can't win games on the road here, with only nine or so guys playing on the road. We need everyone playing on the road. We have too many top end guys that were nowhere to be seen tonight."

But with that being said, Murray says his team is looking forward to what will be the Kings last game in Dauphin this season. "I'm excited. We have to be better. We play well at home. With game seven out of our building, it's a great opportunity for us and we're excited about it."

Tanner Butler opened the scoring for the Kings in the first period, and Matt Franczyk answered for the Pistons in the second. Jeremy Pominville took the loss between the pipes for the Kings, while Corey Koop grabbed the win for the home town Pistons.

The two teams now get back on the bus and head back to Credit Union Place for game five Monday night in Dauphin.
