Bryce Thoma to Steer the Winged Wheel

May 15, 2013 - The Weyburn Red Wings are happy to announce that Bryce Thoma is the next Head Coach of the Weyburn Red Wings.

Thoma has been an Assistant Coach for the WHL's Red Deer Rebels since 2008 and was the Head Coach of silver medal winning Team Alberta this past November at the Under 16 Challenge Cup in Calgary.

Before that, the 31 year old Saskatoon product played four seasons with the Red Deer Rebels from 1999 until 2003 and was part of the 2001 Memorial Cup winning team.

Thoma then moved on to play three seasons with the U of S Huskies,  where he graduated with a degree in Commerce.

He then played professionally in the ECHL for the Fresno Falcons, Columbia Inferno and Las Vegas Wranglers before spending one season in the EIHL with the Hull Stingrays.
