Hannoun's hat trick earns POW nod and propels Eagles to opening win

Surrey Eagles forward Demicon Hannoun has been named the Gongsow BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending May 12, the league announced Monday.

Hannoun helped the Eagles to a win in their first game at the RBC Cup in Summerside, PEI by notching a hat trick and one assist in a 7-0 victory over the Truro Bearcats.

The North Delta, B.C. native scored two power-play goals in the first period and set up another as Surrey scored four in the opening frame. He completed the hat trick early in the third period.

After just one game, Hannoun is second in the tournament in goals and tied for third in points.
