Sting third round pick Connor Schlichting commits to Sarnia

Press Release

Sarnia, On – General Manager Jacques Beaulieu announced this morning that the club has signed Connor Schlichting to an Ontario Hockey League contract and education package.

Schlichting was the Sting’s 3rd round pick (41st overall) in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.

OHL Central Scouting’s offered the following scouting report on Schlichting:

“Connor is one of the most improved players that I have watched in this year’s draft. Every aspect of his game has improved - skating, puck handling etc. - and that is a big reason for his team’s success at some of the major tournaments. Connor possesses a very hard shot and he has the ability to get it off quickly. He is a very hard defensemen to beat one-on-one because he has very good mobility for a player of his size to go along with his long reach. Connor is not afraid of the rough going; he does a very good job of battling along the boards and in front of his net.”
