Clippers Add Jacob Hanlon

Press Release

The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce that 18 year old forward Jacob Hanlon has committed to play for the team this upcoming season.  Jacob joins the Clippers from the Brampton Bombers of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.  As a 17 year old last season he was an Assistant Captain of the team and lead the team in scoring with 13 goals and 35 assists for 48 points in 48 regular season games.  He also added 4 goals and 3 assists for 7 points in 6 playoff games.   The 5’10” 170lb forward played in the GOJHL Top Prospect Game and was nominated for the Midwestern Conference Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player.

Coach Vandekamp: “We are very excited to add Jacob to our roster for the upcoming season.  He is a young, skilled forward, with a bright future at our level.  He is a good two way player who leads by example and puts the team first always.  He has speed, skill, work ethic, and a high level of on ice intelligence.  Most importantly Jacob brings strong character and commitment to our program.  We are confident that he will fit into our team culture very well and are looking forward to working with him and helping him reach his goal of playing NCAA Division 1 Hockey in the future.  We would like to welcome Jacob and his Family to the Clipper Family and look forward to seeing him on the ice in August.”
