Larry Black joins Backs as Asst GM & Dir of Player Personnel

The Salmon Arm SilverBacks are pleased to announce that Larry Black has joined the Backs as the New Asst General Manager & Director of Player Personnel effective immediately.

Larry for the last 6 years has been with the Vernon Vipers as Head Scout & Director of Scouting. He also worked with Vernon for 5 years prior to that as a regional scout. During his tenure with Vernon he helped them to 2 Royal Bank Cup Championships in 2009 & 2010 and also a runner up in 2011. This also included winning the Fred Page Cup 3 times, the Doyle Cup 3 times and 3 BCHL Championships.

"Larry brings a wealth of knowledge to the Silverbacks on and off the ice. He is a proven winner and has an eye for recruits like no other. He is a great recruiter and is very passionate about the players he brings in. If there is a game going on in the Okanagan he will be there” says Mick

Larry lives in Vernon with his wife Gay and has 3 grown children and 5 grandchildren all living in the Vernon area.
