Russell, Ducharme back with Moose

Press Release

Bobby Smith Majority Owner of the Halifax Mooseheads announced this morning that both General Manager Cam Russell and Head Coach Dominique Ducharme have agreed to new three year contracts.  Smith also announced that Assistant Coaches Jim Midgley and Steve Hartley, along with Goaltending Coach Eric Raymond, have all signed new 2 year contracts with the Club.

Russell became General Manager of the Club in January 2009 and has overseen the building of the Mooseheads into a Memorial Cup Champion.  Ducharme and his staff just completed their second season with the Mooseheads and have guided the Organization to a 97-28-5-6 record, reaching the QMJHL Semi-Finals last season and winning the Memorial Cup last month in Saskatoon.

“Job one after our Memorial Cup victory was re-signing the General Manager and Coach who led our team to a record breaking season. I am extremely pleased to have the Cam Russell and Dominique Ducharme back with the Halifax Mooseheads.” stated Majority Owner Bobby Smith.

The Mooseheads will open their 20th anniversary season on Thursday, September 12th at the Halifax Metro Centre.
