Steelheads trade Kristoff Kontos to Saginaw

Press Release

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads announced today that forward Kristoff Kontos has been traded to the Saginaw Spirit for a 4th round pick in 2014 and a 7th round pick in 2015.

Kontos has been a part of the Mississauga franchise since 2011 when he joined the St. Michael’s Majors after being acquired from the Sudbury Wolves. In 68 regular season games for the Steelheads this past season, the Penetanguishene, ON native posted a career high in both goals (17) and points (37). The Saginaw Spirit will be Kontos’ 3rd OHL team as he enters his 4th season in the league as an over-ager. In 269 career games in the OHL, Kontos has scored 45 goals and added 76 assists.

Kristoff has been a valued contributor to the Steelheads and we wish him well in the future.
