WARRIORS DEAL FORWARD FOR TOP D-MAN

Press Release

The West Kelowna Warriors have traded forward Reid Simmonds (93) to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (AJHL) for defenseman Taylor Graham (93).

Graham, who is listed at 6’0 and 180 pounds, played in 56 games for the Oil Barons last year and tallied 5 goals, and 21 assists.

While Simmonds put up back-to-back 19 point seasons with Warriors, playing in 53 games each of the last two years.  Reid also had 5 goals big goals in the last playoff run with West Kelowna.

"We felt we really needed to add a veteran defenseman that could play in all situations,” says Warriors Head Coach/GM Rylan Ferster.  “They are very hard to find and even harder to acquire.  Taylor will be this guy for us next year!”

“Unfortunately, you have to give up an important piece to acquire one!  Reid was with us for two years and had been one if our most consistent forwards night in and night out.  We want to thank him for his contributions to the program and wish him luck with his new team."

Taylor will be in town mid-August for the start of Main Camp.

The Warriors welcome Taylor to the Organization.
