LANCERS HIRE TONY BROWN AS DIRECTOR OF BROADCASTING & MEDIA RELATIONS

Press Release

Ralston, Neb. – The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce they have hired Tony Brown as the team’s new Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.  Brown spent the last two seasons in a similar role for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

“We’re extremely excited to welcome Tony to the Omaha Lancers,” said Vice President, Business Operations Dan Fremuth said.  “He brings a knowledge and passion for the game of hockey that will make Lancers’ broadcasts among the most exciting and informative in junior hockey.”

Before joining the Jackalopes, Brown served as a Broadcast Assistant for the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL) while completing his degree at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

“I can’t wait to get to Omaha to begin working with the Lancers,” Brown said.  “It’s a great honor to call the action for such a storied club as the Omaha Lancers and I couldn’t be more excited for a run at the Clark Cup in 2013-14.”

A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Brown will coordinate the team’s media relations, will maintain content on the Lancers’ website and social media outlets and will broadcast all regular season and postseason games throughout the 2013-14 season.  All Lancers’ games this season will once again be broadcast on the Mighty 1290 AM KOIL.  Meanwhile, Fremuth, who has served as the team’s broadcaster for the last five seasons, will shift his focus to the business operations of the team.

Season tickets for the 2013-2014 season of Omaha Lancers hockey are currently on sale!  For more information, contact the Lancers front office at 402-344-7825, ext. 1 or visit www.lancers.com.
