At a press conference at the WFCU Centre, the Spitfires unveiled their new home
and away jerseys to a gathering of media.
“We
wore the previous jerseys for five seasons, since we launched them back
in 2008,” said Spitfires President and Head Coach, Bob Boughner. “We
wanted to keep the logo consistent. We feel it has become a symbol of
our brand strength. But at the same time, we felt it was time to freshen
up the look. We hope our fan base will like the new design. We feel
it's very progressive and will be noticed around the league.”
The jerseys will be
available sometime in September. For now, anyone wishing to can
pre-order online at WindsorSpitfires.com or in person at The Crease,
which is located on the main concourse of the WFCU Centre, near Gate 2.
