Steelheads extend Jason Nobili through 2015

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads have announced that they have extended the contract of Assistant GM and Associate Coach, Jason Nobili through the 2014-2015 season. Nobili joined the Steelheads last season, helping guide the Steelheads to the first round of the playoffs in their inaugural season.

Prior to joining Mississauga, Nobili has had a long history of coaching, including the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), ECHL, and internationally with Hockey Canada. His second year with the Steelheads will mark his 6th season coaching in the OHL having spent 4 seasons as the Assistant Coach of the Owen Sound Attack from 2000-2004.

Steelheads’ owner Elliott Kerr is looking forward to having Nobili continue on with the franchise stating,  “We are thrilled to have Jason back as we build our team both on and off the ice with our goal of contending for and ultimately winning the Memorial Cup. Jason is and will be a very important part of our team moving forward.”

 Head Coach and GM, James Boyd speaks very highly of Nobili’s abilities as a coach, “Jason possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is a valued member of our organization. I speak for our staff when I say that we are excited that Jason will be working with our players into the future."

“My family and I are extremely excited to return to the Steelheads. I would like to thank both James Boyd and Elliott Kerr, for extending me the opportunity to return to Mississauga. I look forward to the opportunity to once again coach in the Ontario Hockey League and to continue to work closely with James Boyd and the Steelheads' players over the next few years.”, said Nobili.
