August 14, 2013 (Ottawa, ON.): The Ottawa 67’s today announced that forward Tyler Hill has entered into a standard player agreement with the club. Hill, a 6’6”, 225 lb. LW from Hagersville Ontario, played for the Chicago Steel of the USHL last season. The 18-year old was a 5th round pick of the 67’s in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
“Tyler is a big body power forward who has skill and hockey sense,” said 67’s Head Coach and General Manager Chris Byrne. “He was considering options to play at an NCAA school, which is why he didn’t join us right after the 2011 draft, but now he’s chosen the Ontario Hockey League as the best route to develop as a player and student. We look forward to seeing Tyler compete at our training camp and are excited to have him join our team.”
Last season, as a rookie with the Steel, Hill recorded 6 goals and 6 assists and was a +10 in 30 games. He is NHL draft eligible next June.
