Acadie-Bathurst Announces the Passing of a Prospect

Press Release

It is with deep regret that the Acadie-Bathurst Titan announces the death of one of its young prospects, Jordan Boyd. The 16 year-old was skating during an individual training session when hi suffered a discomfort and collapsed on the ice. The Acadie-Bathurst Titan medical team tried to revive him several times. The young player was transported to hospital where his death was confirmed by a doctor.

The League was informed of the incident and is working in collaboration with the team to bring the necessary support to the parents and players in these difficult times. Jordan Boyd had had a complete medical evaluation prior to the camp and didn't seem to have any medical problems that prevented him from participating. We are waiting for the hospital's autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. We offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones.

In order to protect his family's privacy, the organization will not emit any further comments on this case for the moment.
