Flyers' Cook named to Great Britain U-20 Team

Press Release

Great Britain Under-20s have named their squad for this month's European tournament in Lithuania and newly acquired forward Josh Cook of the Winkler Flyers is on the roster. Cook was acquired from the Lloydminster Bobcats (AJHL) in July.

The tournament is dedicated to the memory of Alexei Cherepanov, a Russian hockey player who died after collapsing during a KHL game in Russia in October 2008.

Great Britain will go head to head with Lithuania Under-20s, Poland Under-20s, Belarus Under-18s and Russian sides Omsk Hawks and Kapitan Stupino in the six-team tournament from 23rd to 28th August 2013.

Under-20 head coach, Pete Russell, said: "The tournament will be great in getting our younger players international experience. We are very honoured to be invited to the tournament. They will be five tough matches but we are very much looking forward to it. The recent camps in Sheffield were a massive success and this tournament will continue our preparations for the World Championship in December."
