IceDogs Acquire Gilmour and Richard from Kingston

Press Release

Niagara IceDogs head coach and general manager Marty Williamson announced today that the IceDogs have acquired forward Jake Gilmour, goaltender Blake Richard and a conditional 12th round pick in 2015 from the Kingston Frontenacs in exchange for the IceDogs 12th round pick in 2015.

Gilmour was an eighth round pick of the Frontenacs in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens and is the son of Frontenacs general manager Doug Gilmour.  Gilmour spent last season with the Brampton Jr. B Bombers where he picked up eight assists in 43 games.

Richard was selected by the Frontenacs in the 11th round of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection and has played in a total of nine games for the Frontenacs during his OHL career.  A Hamilton native, Richard split time between the Thorold Jr. B Blackhawks and Stoney Creek Jr. B Warriors last season and has even served as an emergency backup in practice for the Toronto Marlies back in 2012.

The IceDogs would like to welcome both Jake and Blake to the IceDogs organization and we look forward to seeing them at training camp later this month!
