Pistons acquire 20 year old defenseman Anton in exchange for Friesen

Press Release

Tyler Anton will be joining the Pistons this fall while Taylor Friesen will be moving to the Portage Terriers. The veteran defenseman will add experience and stability to the Pistons D-core. “We are excited to add a player of Tyler’s caliber. He led the Terriers defensemen in scoring last season and will complement our power play. He has been to the RBC Cup and will bring that experience to our room.” Says Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck.

Anton was a member of the Terriers Championship team from 2011-12. He scored 7 goals and 26 assists with 70 penalty minutes last season.

“Although it was a very difficult decision to move Taylor, we felt it was in the best interest of our hockey team to make this deal. Taylor was a part of a special season and hopefully he builds on this experience.” Head Coach/GM Paul Dyck.

The Pistons organization would like to thank Taylor for his contributions to our club over the past 2 seasons. They wish him all the best as he continues his MJHL career with the Terriers.
