Affiliate Dylan Malmquist commits to Notre Dame

MUSKEGON, Michigan (September 20th) – For the second time this week, a player associated with the Muskegon Lumberjacks organization has made his college choice as affiliate Dylan Malmquist has committed to the University of Notre Dame (Hockey East)  following his junior hockey career.

Malmquist, the Edina, Minnesota product, was the Lumberjacks’ first round pick (10th overall) in the 2012 USHL Futures Draft and will be entering his junior year at Edina (Minnesota) High School.  During his first two seasons with the Hornets, Malmquist has accumulated 90 points (46 goals and 44 assists) in 57 games played.

This past summer, Malmquist also played for Team USA in the 2013 Ivan Klinka Memorial Tournament held from August 5-10th in B?eclav, Czech Republic and Piešt’any, Slovakia earning the silver medal.  During the USA Select 17 National Development Camp that took place before the tournament from June 27-July 3 in Williamsville, New York, Malmquist was the top scorer with 11 points and shared the goal-scoring lead with six.
