Game cancelled due to highway closure

Press Release

Over the years a number of factors have caused game cancelllations - icy roads, blizzards, ice plant issues.  One of the most unusual circumstances arose Wednesday evening when a game between the Swan Valley Stampeders and the Flin Flon Bombers was cancelled due to - beer.  That's right, beer.  A semi trailer overturned on a northern Manitoba highway, spewing cases of full beer across the highway and into the ditch.  The clean-up efforts took several hours, causing the RCMP to completely close the highway therefore the Bombers were not able to make their way to Swan Valley.
