Jeff Sargeant Named New Rivermen Play-by Play Broadcaster

Press Release

The Langley Rivermen are excited to welcome Jeff Sargeant as the team’s new play-by-play broadcaster.

A native of Richmond, Jeff brings with him a variety of broadcast experience including play-by-play of CIS hockey, basketball, volleyball, and football as well as BCHL in Trail and, most recently, Prince George where he worked as a morning news anchor for the past two years.

While in BC’s Northern Capital, Jeff was heavily involved with the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Major Midget League serving in a variety of capacities including play-by-play broadcaster, media relations director, and team manager.

A graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast Journalism program, Jeff has made several stops across Western Canada the last six years and is thrilled to return to the Lower Mainland.

“The opportunity to work with the Langley Rivermen and broadcast Canada’s best Junior A hockey is unique and very exciting.  This team is building for a very promising season and future and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Jeff will make his Rivermen debut at the team’s home opener, September 20th.
