Two of the newest Buffalo Jr. Sabres players, forward Michael Ederer (pictured, photo credit: Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) and defenceman Dennis Gilbert, are both committed to NCAA Division I programs for the 2015-16 season.
Michael Ederer joins the Sabres this season after excelling at Nicholls School in Buffalo the previous few years. The native of Lancaster, New York would commit to the St. Lawrence University Saints for the 2015 season during September of 2012 and late in the season would join the South-West Conference champion Buffalo Jr. Sabres for his first junior contest. Ederer would score the game-winner during a 2-1 victory over North York in game five of the Conference Semi-Final. The top-ranked prospect is off to a fast start this season, having potted four goals in his first three OJHL regular season contests.
Rearguard Dennis Gilbert joined the club out of St. Joe's Collegiate Institute, where he had committed to the Niagara University Purple Eagles for the 2015-16 Atlantic Hockey season. The 6'2", 190 lbs. native of Clarence, New York, joined his hometown junior squad and notched his first OJHL point in only his second regular season game.
Congratulations to both and we look forward to seeing them compete in their rookie OJHL season!
