Petes reassign Tyson Baker to Stratford

Press Release

The Peterborough Petes announced this afternoon that left winger Tyson Baker has been reassigned to the Stratford Cullitons of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. Baker played in two games this pre-season with the Petes. He will join fellow Petes prospect Nick Nigro with the Cullitons.

“Tyson had a very good camp,” said Petes General Manager Michael Oke. “He will get the opportunity to play in key situations in Stratford which will allow him to continue to develop his skill.”

Baker was drafted by the Petes in the tenth round of the 2011 OHL Priority Selection. He played for the St. Mary’s Lincolns of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2012-2013 season, registering 26 points and 102 penalty minutes in 48 games. He appeared in 2 games for the Petes last year, joining the team full time once St. Mary’s was eliminated from play.

The Petes roster now sits at 26 players with one more pre-season game to be played.
