SJHL trade update

Press Release

Flin Flon Bombers trade rookie forward Evan Patrick to the MJHL Dauphin Kings for futures.  Patrick had 11-goals and 19-assists in 38-games with Swift Current (SMAAAHL) last year.

The Estevan Bruins pick-up rookie defenseman Kyle Bird from the Melville Millionaires for future considerations.  Bird dressed for four games with the Mils in 2011-12 and had 23-points in 44-games for Tisdale (SMAAAHL) last season.

20-year-old defenseman Justin Coachman is on the move from Kindersley to the Neepawa Natives of the MJHL.  Coachman was pointless in 17-games for the Klippers a season ago.

Sean Whelan is now a Flin Flon Bomber.  Whelan had a goal and three assists in 32-games for Kindersley last year.  He also dressed for 11-games with the WHL’s Regina Pats.  Import rookie defenseman Keifer Schaufler and veteran blueliner Tanner Clark go to the OCN Blizzard of the MJHL.  Schaufler was trying to crack the Bombers after graduating from the Alberta based UFA Bisons.  Clark will be with his third Junior ‘A’ organization in his career after a 50-4-22-26 line with the Bombers last season.  Whelan was moved from the Klippers to the Blizzard in a futures deal prior to the Flin Flon trade.

La Ronge has picked up Kyle Campbell from Fort McMurray.  Campbell didn’t score a goal, but had 7-assists in 48-games as a rookie with the AJHL team in 2012-13.

Yorkton has traded import defenseman Matthew Carr to Melville in a rare trade involving the two rivals.  Carr, who has played 10-career games in the BCHL with Langley and Trail, collected 10-goals and 26-assists in 44-games with Fernie (KIJHL) last season.
