Moncton, NB – The Moncton Wildcats have announced that Steve Young will take over as the new play by play broadcaster on news 91.9 this season.
Steve has 25 years’ experience as a speedway public address and play by play announcer. He has had stops in Brighton, Brockville, Cornwall and Ottawa. Steve recently moved from Ontario to Amherst last September. He Went to Mohawk Collage for Broadcast Journalism in Hamilton Ontario.
When he first got into radio he had stops in Orillia, Woodstock ON, Muskoka and Trenton always as a broadcaster as News and Sports Director. In Muskoka was where he had his first opportunity as a play by play announcer with the now defunct Muskoka Bears in the Metro Jr. A Hockey League.
“Would like to thank the Wildcats for this awesome opportunity, this is something I have been working towards my whole life.” Said Young, “It’s great to live the dream!”
Every Wildcats game is broadcast on News 91.9. The season starts Thursday September 12th in Halifax against the Mooseheads at 7PM. The Wildcats home opener is the following day, Friday September 13th vs. Saint John with the puck drop at 7PM. Ticket go on sale this Friday at the Coliseum box office or online.
