Bulldogs acquire LaCouvee and Clowes

Press Release

Port Alberni, BC – The Alberni Valley Bulldogs announced that they have acquired 1994-born goalie Connor LaCouvee from the Merritt Centennials for future considerations.

LaCouvee, who is from Qualicum Beach, BC, spent last season with the Cowichan Valley Capitals before ending up in Merritt this season via the Nanaimo Clippers and the Grand Prairie Storm. In four appearances in Merritt this season, LaCouvee has a record of 4-0 with a 2.24 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

In a second move by the club on Tuesday, the team traded the CJHL playing rights of 1993-born defenseman Luke Fenske to the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) for 1995-born defenseman Brodie Clowes and future considerations.

Clowes was originally a 5th round draft pick in 2010 by the Chilliwack Bruins (WHL) and broke into junior hockey with the Olds Grizzlys (AJHL) in 2011/12. He’s a 6’2, 195lbs, right-handed defenseman who plays physically and has a good shot from the point. In nine games with Whitecourt this season, Clowes has one assist and 30 PIMs.

To make room for LaCouvee and Clowes, the Bulldogs have released 1995-born goalie Brad Rebagliati and 1994-born forward Dean Allison. The Bulldogs would like to thank both Brad and Dean for their contributions to the organization and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
