Finlay commits to Vees

Press Release to the World World of Junior Hockey

PENTICTON, BCThe Penticton Vees Jr. ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce forward Liam Finlay (97) has committed for the 2014-15 season.

 Vees Head Coach & GM Fred Harbinson on Finlay’s commitment, “Liam’s hockey sense and skill level are at an extremely high level; he has proven to us that he will be an excellent junior ‘A’ player. He’s also a strong student, a good person and determined to succeed, and it is these characteristics that solidified our desire to see him full time in a Penticton Vees jersey next season.”

 Finlay, 16, is currently playing for the Okanagan Rockets of the BC Major Midget League (BCMML). The Kelowna product leads the Rockets in scoring (as well as the entire league) with 10 points in 4 games. In his rookie campaign last season, Finlay scored an impressive 50 points in 40 games.  

 Finlay played two exhibition games for the Vees this pre-season and will make his regular season debut this Saturday night, as the Vees host the Alberni Valley Bulldogs at 6pm at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
