Hitmen add Penner in trade

Press Release

Calgary Hitmen General Manager and Vice President, Business Operations Mike Moore announced today that the club has acquired forward Linden Penner from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

“We identified Linden at the Flames development camp where we thought his play was strong,” said Moore on the 6-3, 220-pound forward.  “He is a big and solid winger who likes to go to the net and will add more size and presence to our lineup.”

Linden, a native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, has dressed for one game with the Silvertips this season.  The 18-year-old rookie was one of 44 prospects that attended the Calgary Flames summer development camp on a try-out agreement in July and participated in the 2013 Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C. in September.
