Press Release
Calgary
Hitmen General Manager and Vice President, Business Operations Mike
Moore announced today that the club has acquired forward Linden Penner
from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a conditional seventh round
pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
“We identified Linden at
the Flames development camp where we thought his play was strong,” said
Moore on the 6-3, 220-pound forward. “He is a big and solid winger who
likes to go to the net and will add more size and presence to our
lineup.”
Linden, a native of Sherwood Park, Alberta, has
dressed for one game with the Silvertips this season. The 18-year-old
rookie was one of 44 prospects that attended the Calgary Flames summer
development camp on a try-out agreement in July and participated in the
2013 Young Stars Classic in Penticton, B.C. in September.
