Hitmen NCAA Commitments piling up early

Press Release

Wayne, NJ - The Jersey Hitmen Premier team are proud to announce three early season NCAA division one commitments. The first commitment came three weeks ago when veteran defenseman, and 2103/14 assistant captain, John Furgele, committed to the University of New Hampshire. Furgele, known for his offensive prowess and tremendous hockey IQ, lead all EJHL defenseman last season in scoring with a 14-38-52 scoring line.

Commitment number two also came from a Hitmen veteran and newly selected 2013/14 team captain, Dominic Trento. Trento, also chose a Hockey East school, signing with the UMass-Amherst Minutemen. A crafty centerman, Trento was the 2013 Dineen Cup most valuable player, and finished second in EJHL scoring with a 18-49-67 scoring line.

The final commitment of the month came from a Hitmen newcomer, Michael Laffin. Laffin, a 2013 NHL central scouting player and extremely ‘heady’ player, decided to take his talents to Worcester Mass, signing with the Crusaders of Holy Cross. An Atlantic League power, Laffin will join former Hitman, Michael Barrett in donning the purple and white.

Furgele, Trento and Laffin join high energy forward, Corey Hoffman (Cornell University), as the first four NCAA commitments off of the 2013-2014 Hitmen Premier roster.
