Jake Larson Commits to the University of Alaska Anchorage

The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce that 19 year old Forward Jake Larson has committed to play for the University of Alaska Anchorage.  Located in Anchorage, Alaska the “Seawolves” play in the WCHA under first year Head Coach Matt Thomas. The Seawolves currently have former Bandits goaltender Rob Gunderson completing his senior year this season.

Jake is from St. Michael, MN and played with the Minnesota Wilderness last year before signing on with the Bandits in the off season. Jake was a key member of the Wilderness squad that went as far as the RBC Cup Semi Final. Larson was a nominee for the CJHL Rookie of the Year along with winning the SIJHL Rookie of the Year award. This season Jake has continued his scoring ways producing 4 goals and 10 assists in 10 games to lead all Bandits scorers.

Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou – “Jake has been a very welcome addition to this year’s team. His offensive abilities have been well displayed over the first portion of the season and we are looking forward to his development. Adding a player like Jake was key to our recruiting efforts this summer and he hasn’t disappointed. Off the ice we have added a great person with a ton of character and this commitment is well deserved. ”

The Bandits Organization would like to congratulate Jake and his Family on his athletic and academic future.
Jake is the fifth Bandit committed to play in the NCAA joining Patrick Lee (University of Massachusetts), Maddison Smiley (University of Massachusetts), Anthony Paskaruk (Clarkson) and Anthony Petruzzelli (University of Vermont).
