Pierog bags hat trick on way to 7-point weekend and POW nod

Surrey Eagles forward Nic Pierog has been named the BCHL Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20, the league announced Monday.

Pierog chalked up five goals and two assists in three games in helping the Eagles go undefeated. The Georgetown, Ont. product tallied at least a goal each game, including a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Prince George where he was named 1st Star.

The 20-year-old has now surpassed his goal total from all of last season and his 19 points leads the Eagles.
