Players named to the Canada East selection camp roster were selected from the CJHL’s five eastern Junior A leagues: the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec (LHJAAAQ) and Maritime Hockey League (MHL).

The selection camp roster was chosen by Canada East head coach Ian MacInnis (Cornwall, CCHL), along with assistant coaches Mario Cicchillo (Toronto, OJHL), Peter Goulet (Nepean, CCHL) and Marc Lafleur (Kirkland Lake, NOJHL) and team manager Derek Blais (Hockey Canada).

“The talent level in Canada’s five eastern Junior A leagues continues to rise, and it has made for some tough choices when putting together this camp roster,” MacInnis said. “We could not be more excited about the 66 players coming to Oakville, and we’re confident they’ll battle hard for the chance to represent their country and wear the Team Canada jersey in Yarmouth.”

“The coaching staff, camp selection committee, and Hockey Canada's high performance staff have all worked extremely hard to identify and evaluate the best candidates across Eastern Canada that will give Canada East an opportunity to compete for gold in Yarmouth,” said CJHL president Kirk Lamb. “This group of players represents some of the game’s top prospects, not just at the Junior A level, but in junior hockey across Canada.”

The Canada East selection camp roster includes:
•    five goaltenders, 23 defencemen and 38 forwards;
•    28 players from the OJHL, 21 players from the CCHL, seven players from the MHL, and five players each from the NOJHL and LHJAAAQ;
•    five players returning from the 2011 World Junior A Challenge (Crocock, Evans, Hladin, Quince, Soucier).

The 2013 World Junior A Challenge will be held Nov. 4-10 at the Mariners Centre in Yarmouth, N.S. Canada East will play in Group A, joined by Russia and the United States, while Canada West, the Czech Republic and Switzerland will comprise Group B.
