Regina, Saskatchewan – Regina Pats Senior VP and
General Manager Chad Lang announced today the team has completed a trade
with the Medicine Hat Tigers to acquire 20-year old forward Boston
Leier in exchange for a second round WHL Bantam Draft selection in 2016.
In four games this season, the Saskatoon, SK product has two goals.
Last year, he tallied 52 points (18G, 34A) while playing in all 72
Regular Season games last season with Medicine Hat.
The 5’11”,
185 lbs left winger is just two games shy of reaching the 200 games
played milestone in his fourth WHL Season. Leier also adds 30 games of
playoff experience, totaling 12 points (6G, 6A) in those games.
The former 3rd Round WHL Bantam pick was invited to the Washington
Capitals’ Training Camp this season before returning to the WHL.
With the acquisition of Leier, the Pats now have one over-age player slot remaining.
