Press Release
The Lloydminster Bobcats made a trade Friday afternoon, sending 19 year
old defenseman Spencer Johnstone to the Calgary Mustangs in exchange
for future considerations.
The deal will see future considerations coming the way of the Bobcats.
It is anticipated that the Bobcats will add a future defenseman as a
result of the transaction with the Mustangs.
The '94-born Spencer Johnstone who is from Calgary, Alberta returns to
where he played his Midget AAA. He joined the Bobcats as a rookie in
2012/13 where he collected 3 goals, 8 assists and 84 penalty minutes in
56 games played.
This season Johnstone had 2 goals, 3 assists, with 33 penalty minutes in 21 games played.
GM/Coach Garry VanHereweghe had this to say about the trade, “Spencer
has been a quality member of the Bobcats both on and off the ice, and
will be missed. This is a decision that was made in the best interests
of Spencer and his family, by allowing Spencer to return home and play
in his home city, and be with his family.”
The Bobcats organization would like to thank Spencer Johnstone for his
contributions to our organization, and wish him the best of luck in his
future.
