Cape Breton's Play-by-Play Announcer Kyle Moore Makes Move to Television

Press Release

Sydney – Newcap Radio Cape Breton announced today that Cape Breton Screaming Eagles Play-by-Play Announcer, Kyle Moore, has left his position with 103.5 The Eagle to pursue a career in television news.

Moore, who was the voice of the Screaming Eagles for the last three seasons, has accepted a position with CTV News in Sydney.  The Glace Bay native completed his final broadcast on the road in Quebec City on Sunday, November 10th when the Screaming Eagles defeated the Quebec Remparts in a 3-2 shoot out win.

“We wish Kyle Moore the best in his new endeavour,” said Robert Redshaw, General Manager of Newcap Radio Cape Breton. “We would like to thank him for his professionalism over the past 3 years.”

Newcap radio announced that Dave Leblanc will fill the role on an interim basis until a permanent replacement is hired.  Leblanc has an extensive background in radio and has been with the Screaming Eagles as their public address announcer for over 15 years.

“We are looking forward to filling his position as quickly as possible, and want to thank Dave LeBlanc for stepping in the short term,” said Redshaw.  “103.5 The Eagle is proud to be the official radio broadcast partner of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and we look forward to a great 2013-14 season.”

Kyle Moore was the fourth play-by-play announcer in the Screaming Eagles 17 year franchise history.

“We would like to thank Kyle for delivering exciting play-by-play to our fans for the past three seasons,” said Peter MacDonald, Screaming Eagles General Manger Business Operations.  “The live radio broadcast is a very important element in keeping our fans in touch with the team and we look forward to continuing this partnership with 103.5 The Eagle.”
