Dubuque defenseman commits to Air Force

 Dubuque Fighting Saints defenseman Phil Boje has committed to play college hockey at the United States Air Force Academy following his USHL career.

Boje has appeared in all 10 games for the Saints this season and is tied for second on the team with three goals.  He netted two goals in the 6-2 victory over Chicago on October 25th.  The 19-year-old defenseman had scored one goal in 48 previous USHL games.  He also has posted a plus-four rating.

The Shoreview, Minnesota native collected four points (1g, 3a) and posted a plus-five rating in 42 games for the Saints last season, helping them earn the USHL’s best record in the regular season to capture the Anderson Cup.

Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman R.J. Majkozak is also committed to the Air Force.  The school is part of the Atlantic Hockey Association and has eight USHL alumni on the roster this season; Max Birkinbine (Des Moines Buccaneers), Chad Demers (Fargo Force), Cole Gunner (Tri-City/Chicago/Fargo), Max Hartner (Green Bay Gamblers), Johnny Hrabovsky (Tri-City Storm), George Michalke (Sioux Falls Stampede), A.J. Reid (Fargo Force), and Dan Weissenhofer (Fargo/Lincoln).

Additionally, the Falcons head coach Frank Serratore spent six seasons coaching in the USHL (Omaha Lancers/Rochester Mustangs/Austin Mavericks) and is among the all-time leaders in winning percentage (.710).
