EHL Players of the Week

Press Release

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Eastern Hockey League has announced its Players of the Week for November 4-11, 2013.  Left to Right:  Hunter Wilhoite, Ryan Hubbard, Jay Heinle.

DEFENSIVE:  Hunter Wilhoite, Valley Jr. Warriors
The 1994 birth year defenseman from Brentwood, Tenn., logged plenty of minutes and played his usual, steady game in helping the Warriors knock off the league-leading New Hampshire Monarchs 3-2, and holding the high-powered Connecticut Oilers to two goals in regulation.

GOALTENDER:  Ryan Hubbard, Boston Bandits
The 1993 birth year player from Bridgewater, Mass., claimed two victories last week as the Bandits defeated Walpole 3-1 at home and shot down the Rockets 5-2 on the road.  Hubbard stopped 45 of 48 shots for a .948 save percentage and increased his season record to 7-5-0-0.

OFFENSIVE:  Jay Heinle, Connecticut Oilers
The 1993 birth year forward from York, Pa., scored the overtime game-winner, to go along with an assist, in Connecticut’s victory over Valley on Nov. 9.  Heinle added two assists the next night, to bring his season total to 20 points, as the Oilers drubbed rival Hartford 5-1.
