Hurricanes acquire Bell from Warriors

Press Release

Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes announced after their game in Moose Jaw they have acquired Defenceman Tyler Bell from the Warriors for a 3rd round Bantam pick in 2014.

With six Defenceman on the roster, Lethbridge Hurricanes General Manager Brad Robson has been in the market for another blueliner to patrol the backend. In acquiring the 1994-born Bell, Robson feels he’ll be able to bolster his defence and fit in well with the young core the team already has in place.

The 6’2, 198 pound Bell was with the Kamloops Blazers before being traded to Moose Jaw midway through the 2012-2013 season. In 23 games this season, the native of Regina, SK has 5 points (1G, 4A) and 44 PIM’s. He’s played in 146 career WHL games with 26 points (5G, 21A), a +1-plus/minus rating and 197’s PIM’s.

Bell is expected to join the Hurricanes for practice on Thursday.
