Marchand to remain with Screaming Eagles

Sydney – The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles have confirmed that 18-year-old goaltender, Chase Marchand, has been permanently called up from Junior A and will remain with the team.

Marchand, who was drafted by the Screaming Eagles in the 10th round, 168th overall in the 2012 QMJHL Draft, has played in six games for Cape Breton this season as an affiliate player. Marchand has a record of 4 wins and 2 losses, with a 1.74 goals against average, and a .935 save percentage in this span.

The Upper Tantallon native previously played with the Amherst Ramblers of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.  The Screaming Eagles are now carrying three goaltenders on their roster including Marchand, 17-year-old goaltender Alex Bureau, and 20-year-old goaltender Maxime Lagacé who is currently sidelined with a lower body injury.
