Musketeers forward commits to Bentley University

 Sioux City Musketeers forward Kyle Schmidt has committed to play college hockey at Bentley University following his USHL career.

Schmidt has appeared in all 12 games for the Musketeers this season and collected four points (2g, 2a).  The 19-year-old was acquired by the Musketeers via trade midway through last season from the Waterloo Black Hawks and put up 15 points (5g, 10a) over 29 games in Sioux City.

The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native first broke into the USHL with Waterloo in 2011-12 and played two games.  For his USHL career, he has produced 37 points (13g, 24a) and a plus-five rating in 72 regular season games.  He came to the USHL from the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals youth program.

Bentley University is a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association and has six USHL alumni on the Falcons roster this season; Gabe Antoni (Dubuque Fighting Saints), Will Suter (Lincoln/Sioux City), Alex Kubiak (Chicago/Green Bay), Brett Gensler (Youngstown/Cedar Rapids), Andrew Fitzstephens (Chicago Steel), and Tyler Deresky (Des Moines/Lincoln).
