Press Release
The 16th annual Teddy Bear Toss will take place December 8th at the
RBC Centre when the Sarnia Sting host the Guelph Storm in Ontario Hockey
League action.
Fans are asked to bring a stuffed bear (or any stuffed animal), to
the game. When the Sting score their first goal, fans can toss the
stuffed animals on the ice. The bears are then collected and donated to
13 different charities in the community through the Salvation Army.
Over the last fifteen years, over 42,000 stuffed animals have been collected and donated to local charities in the community.
In the previous fifteen Teddy Bear tosses no Sting player has scored
two Teddy Bear Toss goals. Nickolas Latta and Daniel Nikandrov go into
this year's game as the only Sting players that can accomplish this
feat, Latta scored in 2011 and Nikandrov in 2012.
