West Kelowna Warriors forward and captain Matt Anholt has secured his NCAA Div. I hockey future with the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
The second-year Warrior becomes the ninth player on the team's roster to land a Div. I scholarship.
Anholt, a native of Prince Albert, Sask., has posted five goals and seven assists this season after registering nine goals and 22 assists in the 2012-13 campaign.
At UAA, Anholt will join fellow BCHL alums Andrew Pettitt, Chris Williams, Ben Matthews and Chase Van Allen. Current BCHLers Cam Amantea, Anthony Conti and Olivier Mantha (Penticton), Jarrett Brown (Cowichan Valley) and Austin Azurdia (Langley) are also commmitted to play for the Seawolves in seasons ahead.
UAA plays in the NCAA's Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Former Prince George Spruce Kings and Salmon Arm SilverBacks standout Josh Ciocco is an assistant coach with the team.
