Assistant coach David Carle to leave for job at Denver

Press Release

Green Bay Gamblers assistant coach David Carle has been hired as an assistant hockey coach at Denver. Carle will officially join the Pioneers’ staff on Jan. 1, 2014 as he will replace departing associate head coach Steve Miller

Carle’s duties with the Gamblers included game analysis, breaking down video, recruiting and working with the team’s defensemen.

“David is an outstanding student of the game and has a bright future in coaching,” Said Gamblers Head Coach and General Manager Derek Lalonde. “We appreciate his time here and wish him the best of luck with this opportunity.”

Prior to coming to Green Bay in fall of 2012, Carle was a student assistant at Denver.  He was originally recruited by Denver, but was forced to retire from hockey in July, 2008 after being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
