BOUCHERVILLE, Monday December 9, 2013 - Alex Dubeau, Étienne Marcoux and Vincent Dunn were named today the TELUS three stars of the week for December 16 to 22, 2013.
Alex Dubeau, the Moncton Wildcats goaltender of is the first star of the week. In 3 wins this week, he maintained a goals against average of 2.00 and a save percentage of .952. Wednesday, against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Dubeau was shot on 45 times but only allowed one goal in a 3-1 win. He was named the first star of the game. Friday in the first of two games against the Halifax Mooseheads, the 19-year-old veteran made 38 saves in a 5-4 win. Saturday, the Wildcats won 2-1 for their 8th straight win which is also Dubeau's 20th win of the season. Now, in mid-season, the Wildcats goaltender is the QMJHL leader for save percentage with .919.
The second star of the week is Étienne Marcoux. The goaltender of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada won his two home games, maintaining a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .964 . Marcoux was named the first star in both games this week. First against the Charlottetown Islanders, a 6-2 victory. The second, a 1-0 shutout against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Marcoux (2.53) is head-to-head for best goals against average in the league alongside Philippe Cadorette of Baie-Comeau (2.43), Zachary Fucale of Halifax (2.51) and Alex Dubeau of Moncton (2.53) .
With 4 goals and 2 assists, the third star of the week is Vincent Dunn of the Gatineau Olympiques. Friday against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies, the centermen collected one goal and one assist in a 5-4 loss in overtime. Saturday against the Val-d’Or Foreurs, Dunn scored his first hat trick of the season in a 5-2 victory. Dunn now has 16 goals in 28 games this season.
