Hitmen and Royals exchange forwards

Press Release

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club announced today that they have acquired 17-year-old forward Landon Welykholowa (“well-uh-call-uh-wa”) from the Victoria Royals in exchange for 17-year-old forward Braden Oleksyn.

Welykholowa (Pictured), a native of Calgary, Alberta, has recorded one goal along with four penalty minutes over 18 games played with the Royals.  The rookie forward was originally selected by the Prince Albert Raiders in the third round (58th overall) in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.  He appeared in 34 games with the Calgary Buffaloes of the AMHL last season, tallying 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists) along with 78 penalty minutes over that span.
