Nevins signs three-year deal with the Montreal Canadiens

Press Release

The Charlottetown Islanders are proud to announce that Captain Jack Nevins has signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

“Jacks hard work and perseverance has paid off”, says Islanders Head Coach Gordie Dwyer. “His compete level and character have provided him with this great opportunity. He is a great example to not only his teammates but to all players who play the game.”

In 30 games with the Charlottetown Islanders in 2013-14, Nevins has collected 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists). The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward ranks second on the Islanders in differential (+7) and shots on goal (103), while leading the QMJHL with 85 penalty minutes. He has tallied three powerplay goals.

“Today is a dream come true”, says Nevins. “To have the opportunity to join such a historic franchise like the Montreal Canadiens is something you strive for everyday as a hockey player”.
