Seattle announces Hockey School Dates

KENT, November 29, 2013 - The 2014 Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey School will take place over two weeks in August at ShoWare Center in Kent. The dates of the 2014 Hockey School are Monday, August 4, to Saturday, August 9, and Monday, August 11, to Saturday, August 16.

Participants in the T-Birds sixth annual Hockey School will get two tickets to any T-Birds game this season, including playoffs, for FREE if they purchase before February 1. Participants can also get half off the price of the second week if they sign up for both weeks of the camp.

The 2014 Thunderbirds Hockey School will consist of five groups. There are three youth groups: Group A for 6, 7 & 8-year-olds, Group B for 9 & 10-year-olds and Group C for 11 & 12 year-olds. There will also be an Adult Group for players 18-years-old and older.

The T-Birds have added a new Father & Child Group during the first week of Hockey School in 2014. Fathers with children between the ages of 8 to 11-years-old can sign up to go on the ice together. This camp will include video instruction, on-ice drills, controlled scrimmages and other fun activities
The Youth groups will receive an hour and a half of on ice instruction followed by a one hour off-ice session. On the Saturday of the camp there will be a scrimmage game for each group.

The Adult group will feature a two hour on-ice session preceded by an off-ice video instruction session.
Youth group registrants will receive a hockey school jersey while Adult group registrants will receive a hockey school t-shirt.

T-Birds assistant coaches Matt O'Dette and Tyler Alos will be the lead instructors at the 2014 Hockey School. T-Birds players taking part as instructors will be announced in mid July.

There will be free wireless internet available in ShoWare Center for parents who wish to use it while their child is taking part in the hockey school.
